About Centro Britânico

Founded in Viana do Castelo in 1996, CBAM’s main mission has always been to provide excellence on the wide range of services it renders to students, trainees and business clients.

CBAM is a school/training centre with a difference – we pride ourselves in being much more than just a mere language school. In addition to teaching students how to communicate in a foreign language, we motivate them to go further and invite them to appreciate and learn about different cultures and customs.

Our team is made up of 7 teachers, all of whom are highly qualified and specialized in diverse areas of language teaching. Understanding our students’ needs, helping weaker learners surpass their difficulties, while encouraging others to seek international qualifications has helped us to build and maintain an excellent reputation in the area of language teaching within the Alto Minho. All of this has been made possible due to the firm pedagogical support that teachers receive on a permanent basis, the mutual collaboration of other language teaching entities and institutions in the county, and from teamwork.

Centro Britânico’s aim is to keep abreast with new and old ideas that work in the classroom, with new methodologies and technologies that may help our students to achieve excellence. Learning a language is all about being able to communicate not just in the classroom but outside too in the real world. This is why in addition to our regular classes, we have a range of events, activities, celebrations that we invite our students to take part in such as trips, plays and other activities during which we all speak English, French or German.
